1886: John was granted guardianship over Minor children of his Father. petitioner was Mary L. Bothwell. The document states that John Bothwell of Morgan twp died Jan 1881 without appointing a deed or will any Guardian for his children: He left "eight" children under the age of fourteen: Moses Bothwell ,Benjamin Bothwell, Stella Bothwell, Amos Bothwell, Ben Billings,John Billings,Frocie Billings,Emery Billings: all Billing children living in Gage co. NE. Mary requested That John W. Bothwell, of Morgan twp, be granted guardian of person and property of the said children. I don't know who the "Billings children are". There was a Daniel and Ida billings living next to the Bothwells in 1880 and 1885 in Filley, Ne. Gage co. Ida Billings may have been a daughter of John and Mary.
