Notes for Rose Mary Bothwell
Rosemary Greenlee, 88, passed away Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. after a long illness. She was born October 23, 1921 to Bert and Ruby (Loy) Bothwell. Rosemary was a 1939 graduate of Gas City High School. She married John W. Greenlee in a double ceremony with Joe and Betty (Lynch) Bothwell on August 25, 1940. Rosemary formerly worked at the Owens Illinois and Slick Glass factories in Gas City; however, she spent the majority of her life as a homemaker. She was a lifetime member of First Christian Church, Gas City; a 40 year 4H leader of the Monroe Merrymakers, Upland; and a 50 year member and past Worthy Matron of the Upland Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a 50-year member and past president of unit 138 of the American Legion Auxiliary, Upland and was secretary of the Indiana Oxford Sheep Breeders Association for more than 40 years. She was a member of the Grant County 4-H Fair Board and worked for several years on the Monroe Township Election Board.

Mrs. Greenlee was an avid fan of Cincinnati Reds baseball and rarely missed watching and keeping stats for Purdue and IU basketball. She enjoyed watching Butler's run for a national championship this year. She loved to read and do word searches. In more recent years, her biggest hobby was keeping up with her great-grandchildren and their activities. She loved to watch their soccer, football, basketball, softball, and baseball games. Her honest, hardworking nature has influenced them all, and she will be sadly missed.

Mrs. Greenlee is survived by three children: Dr. Daena Richmond, Muncie; Debby Ribble, Gas City; and David (Rita) Greenlee, Galveston, IN. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Terri Hayworth, St. Charles, MO; Tim Hayworth, West Palm Beach, FL; Danielle (Steve) Hewitt, Gas City; Megan (Tony) Parks, Hilliard, OH; PFC Jason (Sara) Ribble, Ft. Campbell, KY; Brandee (Chris) Lowe, Noblesville; and John Greenlee, Ft. Wayne. Two step-granddaughters: Julie (Jamie) Rankin and Chrissy (Brad) McGuire. She is survived by nine great-grandchildren: Chase, Rian, and Ally Rose Hewitt, Gas City; Charlotte Greenlee Parks, Hilliard, OH; Lake, Hunter J., and Sydney Rosellen Ribble, Ft. Campbell, KY; Brandon and Dalton Lowe, Noblesville. Three step-great-grandchildren: Hailey Redmon, Tyler McGuire, and Cody Rankin. She is survived by two sisters: Ruth Orbaugh, Lake Placid, FL and Martha Jane Frei, Marion; sister-in-law, Evelyn Greenlee; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two cats, Raven and Ella, who constantly stood vigil and never left her side.

Mrs. Greenlee was preceded in death by parents: Bert and Ruby Bothwell; husband: John Greenlee; infant son: Stephen R. Greenlee; two brothers: Bob and Joe Bothwell; brothers-in-law: Richard Greenlee, Reed Orbaugh, and Joel Frei; sisters-in-law: Bernice Bothwell and Betty Bothwell; niece: Billie Kay Bothwell; and nephew: Dan Orbaugh.

Viewing is at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main Street, Gas City, Friday from 4-8 p.m. with a Circle of Prayer Service at 7 pm at the funeral home.
