JOHN TAGGART, RETIRED FARMER, GROCER, DIES HERE
John A. Taggart of 1019 East Morgan Street, retired farmer and grocery man, died Thursday morning at 11 o'clock in the Morgan County Memorial Hospital. Hospitalized since Nov 15, his death occurred the day following his seventy-first birthday. He had been in failing health for the past month.

Mr. Taggart was born in Morgan County Nov. 27, 1886, the son of Albert and Mahala Hart Taggart. On Ap. 17, 1907, he was married to Josie M. Hinson, who survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Taggart had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last spring with open house arranged by nieces.

For a number of years Mr. Taggart farmed in Knox and Greene Counties. Returning to Morgan County in 1918, he continued farming for some time south of Martinsville.

Later he was employed by the J. D. Adams Company in Indianapolis, from which he was retired. For about ten years, until approximately two and one-half years ago, Mr. and Mrs Taggart operated a grocery next door to their home. Until his illness, Mr. Taggart most recently had been employed at the East Side Food Locker here.

He was a member of the Local First Christian Church and of I.O.O.F. Lodge.

Beside the wife, he leaves a sister, Mrs. Jessie Goldenschue of Martinsville, and several nieces and nephews. An only daughter, Victoria, died in 1930. Four sisters also are deceased.

The Rev. Fred Sharp will conduct his funeral services Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the First Christian Church. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call at the Cure and Hensley Funeral Home after 7:30 this evening. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the funeral rites.
Buried at South Park Cemetery, Martinsville, Indiana.
