This placeholder has been created to serve as a link between several groups of Bothwells that were previously not known to be related. There are a total of seven family groups with the eldest in each group being one or two generations removed from one another. Six of the groups are definitely linked by the document cited below and the seventh, headed by Charles, is a possible connection. The precise relationship of fhose listed is still under investigation and may never be known for certain. Following is extracted from that notice. (A copy of the notice is also included.)

A legal notice in the Pittsburgh Press Jan. 21, 1896, regarding the estate of Henry Bothwell (who died in 1892) lists a number of parties to the process. This listing ties together some entries in my master file that were unassociated with any other line of Bothwells and also two distinct lines of Bothwells who emigrated from Co. Monaghan to the Pittsburgh, PA, area.
